School Pool

Hollywood Primary School

SONY DSC Hollywood Pool update 17 February 2017

Hollywood Primary School is very fortunate to have a 25m outdoor pool in the school grounds.  The pool is a very much loved and utilised school and community resource.  It has provided for generations of children and community members since 1971. It is only 1.2m at its deepest point and ideal for primary aged children. It is serviced by a pool contractor who monitors the water quality regularly in the summer season. The pool is used for in-term swimming lessons for Years PP-6, for swimming during sports lessons in Term 1 and is also used ad-hoc by some classes whose teacher has his/her Bronze Medallion. During the summer vacation VacSwim run classes there. The pool was built with money raised from the Education Department, the City of Nedlands Council and the P&C Association.  The asset is owned by the Department of Education, but has been run and maintained by the P&C, through its Pool Committee, for some considerable time.  Thanks to the work of the P & C and a generous annual grant from the City of Nedlands, the swimming pool is open to the school and broader community outside school hours, during the summer season. If you and your family would like access to the school pool you can purchase a Pool Season Key.
